My dad has this saying: “life writes a pretty good story.” Now, perhaps it’s not always a story other people want to hear, but for the most part, he’s right. Life has a way of taking you on a wild and crazy journey.
And after seven years, my journey has brought me back to Kinetic.
In 2015, I left Kinetic to pursue a career in education. My parents were both teachers. I’d studied English Literature and Creative Writing in college, and I wanted to share my love for fiction and colorful characters with the next generation. For a while, I enjoyed it. I believed education was where I was supposed to be.
But I never forgot my Kinetic family. Occasionally, while making copies or sitting in department meetings, I would find myself wondering how they were doing, what they were up to, what kind of projects they were working on as they sought to satisfy their clients.
My time in the classroom taught me more about how we learn new information. It taught me how to counterbalance short attention spans with exciting, engaging activities that tested a learner’s knowledge and stoked their curiosity. I loved the rush of planning a new lesson, of watching the light bulbs come on as students grasped a concept. Sadly, those light-bulb moments were few and far between.
As we all know, the teaching profession has become increasingly difficult, especially in the wake of the pandemic. But even as my passion for the classroom dwindled, my passion to continue teaching, to create stimulating lessons and engaging activities, never faltered. And as I began to consider new career avenues, I kept thinking about my first home.
What has always impressed me about Kinetic is our team’s commitment to our clients. The attention to detail, the constant communication, the relentless pursuit of “just right” is second to none in the marketing industry.
But in the end, what brought me back was creativity and passion. Whether it’s brainstorming effective training solutions, planning an anniversary celebration, or putting together an unforgettable travel experience for award-winning sales representatives, the Kinetic team is always working to create new, exciting experiences that knock our clients’ socks off. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?
So, after seven years, I’m finally back with my unicorns. I still get to practice my teaching skills, creating unique training solutions centered around the learner and their needs. But I also get to work with and learn from some of the most dedicated and knowledgeable professionals in the industry—while drinking my fill of coffee, exchanging cheesy puns, and having a grand old time.
Here’s to a new chapter in this copywriter’s story.
